NOTE: SQCpack version 7.0.20218.1 may perform a database update.

If you are currently running a version of SQCpack prior to 7.0.18029.2, upgrading to version 7.0.20218.1 will require an update to your SQCpack database. Typically, your IT staff will perform this update at a time when no other users are using SQCpack. We recommend that you make a backup of your production multi-user SQCpack database before you update that database. After the update has been applied, you must run SQCpack 7.0.18029.2 or higher to open the upgraded database.

Do you require an MSI installation file? Download the 7.0.20218.1 MSI installation.

Run the downloaded installation EXE program. Ensure that you start the install by running the downloaded installation EXE instead of starting the install from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

If SQCpack 7 is already installed on your computer, and you desire to update to version 7.0.20218.1, click the download button to download the update installation file.

If you have a version of SQCpack other than 7, do not install SQCpack 7 in the same directory.

You can use the SQCpack silent MSI installation file to install or update SQCpack remotely via Active Directory Group Policy.

There are two significant benefits from using Group Policy to install and update SQCpack:

You can easily and quickly push the installation or update of a specific SQCpack version to all of the computers in your organization that use SQCpack. If the new version of SQCpack will modify the database to support new features then all computers in your organization will need to run the new version of SQCpack.
SQCpack will be automatically installed or updated the next time the target computer is started or restarted. An advantage of this approach is that SQCpack user(s) on the target computer do not require Administrator privileges in order to obtain the new version of SQCpack.

Follow the steps described here to install or update SQCpack using Group Policy.
