Both CHARTrunner and SQCpack use Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) to gain access to data for charting. The installation for both programs includes MDAC 2.5, which will be installed on your computer automatically if needed. If a later version of MDAC is already on your computer then MDAC 2.5 will not be installed.

In some circumstances, you may need a more recent version of MDAC. For example, if you are using parameter queries with SQL Server and CHARTrunner. For more information about this see http://www.pqsystems.com/kb/activekb/questions/165/ in the Knowledge Base.

DCOM

MDAC relies upon DCOM components being installed on your computer. Windows 95 computers do not have DCOM preinstalled on them. If you are installing SQCpack or CHARTrunner on a Windows 95 computer, you may get a message telling you that either DCOM98 or DCOM95 is required. Please download the appropriate one from the links below, install it, and then retry installing SQCpack or CHARTrunner.
