What's new in the latest release?

Some of the updates and new features in the release 6.5 include:

• Concurrent-user licensing: This option allows you to install PQ Systems software products on an unlimited number of computers, terminal servers, or Citrix servers. The license server then meters the number of users who can concurrently run the software. Concurrent-user licenses give more users access affordably, help eliminate the IT burden, and simplify license management.

• Chart clone: Chart clone allows you to set up a chart exactly the way you like it and then use that chart as a template. Rather than manually changing all of your other charts, you can automatically transfer the settings from this template to all the other charts of the same type.

• Live online chat with technical support engineer: The 24-hour live online chat feature allows you to get your SQCpack questions answered faster and easier than ever. Utilizing our worldwide network of offices, a click of a button will connect you to a PQ Systems technical support engineer who can answer your questions via instant messaging. Simply type in your question and get an answer from one of our qualified technical support engineers. “The live chat/help functionality is great. Keep up the good work!” says Paul Roos of Vale Inco.

Some of the updates and new features in the release 6.0 include:

• Out-of-control summary: The out-of-control summary allows you to quickly scan many control charts and then view them in a ranked list. The charts at the top of the list are the ones with the highest count of out-of-control conditions. Double click to display only the charts that really need attention. If everything is OK, why look at the chart?

• Chart Review: While viewing any chart, use the PgDn and PgUp keys to easily browse through all related charts. Chart Review also allows you to efficiently review all charts in the database, in a group, or in a workspace.

• Chart Slideshow: This allows you to have a set of charts displayed in a loop where a new and current chart is displayed every 10 seconds. This makes it easy to setup a visual chart monitoring station that keeps important metrics both visible and up to date.

• New user privilege: A new user privilege allows you to control which data entry form is used. The regular data entry form or the real-time charting form or both can now be set on a per user basis.

• Images in chart titles: A new chart title code @IMAGE allows you to embed graphics such as company logos or diagrams in any chart title position.

• Improved installation: The install has been improved for Windows Vista users.
