CR: Collating sequence not supported

Problem:

When charting Excel data that may have originated by exporting from a Paradox database, the following error is displayed:

Selected collating sequence not supported by the operating system

Solution:

This may occur when the Excel sheet contains a date column. If you open the Excel sheet (in Excel) and then save it to disk, this error will usually be corrected. There is something about the way in which Paradox exports date columns to Excel that the database engine does not like. Once Excel has saved the sheet on its own this problem is usually fixed.
