SP: SQCpack database files

Revision Date: 2005-09-07

Problem:

SQCpack stores data in Microsoft Access databases. An Access database traditionally has a file extension of .MDB. However, starting with version 4.0, SQCpack assigns a file extension of:  *.SQD.

Solution:

It is not recommended that you casually open these files using Access. However, you may want direct access to this data for exporting or manipulating in some way. In Microsoft Access, select File/Open and then specify *.SQD for the files you are searching. Next, browse and select your SQCpack database.

In addition to the .SQD files, you will also find files with an .LDB file extension. These files do not contain SQCpack data. These are locking files which help manage multi-user access to SQCpack databases. When sending an SQCpack database to another user or to PQ Systems, there is no need to include these .LDB files. Please note that .LDB files are important and should never be deleted without first contacting PQ Systems technical support.
