Fireworks complete holiday celebrations

Fireworks mark a variety of holidays worldwide, from Sydney Harbor's extravaganza to welcome the New Year to the Chinese New Year. For Americans, they are traditionally associated most closely with celebration of our Independence Day, July 4.   • Water quality: ISO's solutions for addressing vital global water challenges are the subject of a new brochure, ISO & water.
  • Top children's hospitals named: For the 2012-13 rankings, U.S. News & World Report surveyed 178 pediatric centers to obtain clinical data in 10 specialties and asked 150 pediatric specialists in each specialty where they would send the sickest children.
  • High grades: Medicare gets good grades on its response time in paying claims, according to a recent survey conducted by the healthcare consultancy organization IVANS, while only 37 percent of survey respondents said that commercial payers were fair most or all of the time.
