Data in everyday life:
National Pi Day

This month we celebrate National Pi Day (March 14). Making pi chains has become a popular celebration of this holiday, with the record currently held by Masuk High School (Monroe, CT) whose students made a chain to represent 75,000 decimal places of pi. See this Pareto chart for other chain numbers. Source: http://teachpi.org/people/rankings.htm
