Russ T. Buckett, Quinn Quip’s boss at Quince Quality Quiche, continues to demand information about the citizens of Quincy, in order to enhance the company’s marketing efforts. He asks Quinn to survey residents’ views about the economy in terms of their assessment of the effect—positive or negative—that the current economic situation has on them. In other words, he wants a mini-assessment of the local consumer confidence level, so he can frame promotional campaigns to a receptive audience.
In order to assess the citizens’ view of the economy, Quinn says that he can sample only 100 residents of Quincy and gather enough data to provide a reasonable measure of attitudes. “I’ll just use a systematic cluster sample,” he announces.
“Sounds good to me,” Buckett responds.
Is Quinn’s approach the best way to sample the residents of Quincy to gather this information?
a) Yes
b) No
