  • National Institute for Standards (NIST) budgets for improvement. NIST Laboratory's FY 2004 budget request includes support for the science/technology community with the measurement capabilities, standards, evaluated reference data and test methods needed to support innovation, improve quality and lower transaction costs in virtually all technology-intensive sectors.
