Process and Tools Training enhances the teaching-learning process. Teachers learn how to help students take responsibility for their learning and improve the quality of their performance. Students at even very young ages have improved learning by using tools such as check sheets, flow charts, and run charts. As they take a more active role in their own education, students maintain their enthusiasm for learning and push themselves to meet higher standards. They develop the critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills they will need to succeed outside of school. To learn more, see Making the grade with quality in the classroom.
Quality outside the classroom
Process and Tools Training applies to school administration and operations as well. Applications are as varied as reducing disciplinary problems, improving facility maintenance, eliminating accounting errors, increasing cafeteria efficiency, improving transportation services, and addressing parent concerns. Participants learn to assess problem areas and determine the best course for quality improvement.
